Makey Makey

 Train-the-Trainer Workshop

Date:  SUNDAY, June 2, 2019

Time:   8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Location:

The Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center,

100 Bigelow Street, Holyoke, MA 01040

Cost:   $150 per person - includes lunch and 1 Makey Makey kit valued at $49.95

Space is limited to 30 participants.

New England ISTE is hosting a fun, hands-on workshop where you will learn how to teach Invention Literacy, Making, and Design Thinking using the award winning Makey Makey invention kit used by educators in all 50 states and around the world. This workshop is perfect for K-12 classroom teachers, technology professionals, and after school staff.

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS:  You will need to bring your own laptop & charging cable: Windows, Mac, Chromebook, Linux operating systems work great. Tablets will not work. Regardless of the kind of laptop used, it must have the ability to plugin a USB “type A” plug - - these are the most common type of USB plugs and it is how the Makey Makey is connected to a computer. Some new laptops do not accept a USB type A plug so the user must supply their own adaptor (“dongle”).

NOTE: If you are using a school issued laptop make sure you're able to access the internet outside of school. Make sure you can access all websites (like YouTube). Sometimes school issued laptops are "locked down" or have some kind of restriction placed on them.

CANCELLATION POLICY: You are welcome to send someone in your place, but we cannot refund money.
